I was also surprised to find that tie-in for The Ship of Lost Men because a) the film was a silent released a few years prior and b) it was not one of Marlene's best movies. Perhaps it is evidence of how valuable Dietrich was as a brand once she became an international film star. The color lithography of these books certainly caught my eye, too, and my favorite design is the World Publishing Company publication of Golden Earrings, with the golden jewelry worn by Dietrich's character Lydia colored yellow.Josephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04970797639620201166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5834131700403691808.post-39176931458636277562015-01-03T10:54:46.326-08:002015-01-03T10:54:46.326-08:00Ship of Lost Men, that is! Never realised there were novelizations as late as "Gigolo". Beautiful vintage colour lithography on the earlier covers, and that cover for the "Ship of Lost Souls" book is very effective. missladivanoreply@blogger.com
