Hate to break it to you!

I know I've neglected this blog, but vicious rumors have been spreading, which have wrecked havoc on my life. I can barely bring myself to type out the sordid, malicious babble that is circulating, but I feel you loyal readers must know:

GWYNETH PALTROW HAS HER GOOPY EYES SET ON THE DIETRICH BIOPIC AGAIN.

Indeed, it's listed on IMDB. We can at least try to rejoice in its status as "in development" and hope that Carol Channing comes crashing through the doors of the BBC boardroom, demanding the role that is rightfully hers.

  1. I've always wanted Uma Thurman to play MD.

  2. Oh I love Carol in this performance! Here is an excerpt of Carol Channing's Autobiography about her encounters with Marlene and a view on the evening of this performance. It starts at the second last paragraph of page 10 till the end of page 13

    1. Thanks for sharing that link! I've skimmed through Channing's autobiography in the past, but reading this excerpt now brings to my attention something I didn't investigate before--that Hirschfield caricature of Channing and Dietrich that supposedly appeared in The New York Times. I found this one, which is dated June 1, 1963, but it doesn't quite fit the description (also, I can't find anything like it for that date in the NYT archives). If anyone knows where the Hirschfield caricature as described by Channing appeared, please tell me. I wouldn't want to question Carol, but if she got facts about Marlene's molars and original hair color wrong, she probably botched these bibliographic details, too.
